Biography

Penelope Hargrave is a Counsel in the firm’s Payment Fraud & Banking Liability group who joined Whitfield & Crane from the U.S. Department of Justice. She focuses on payment fraud, card scheme abuse and processor liability. secured freezing orders in some of the fastest response times on record.

She advises clients across North America and Europe and works with the firm’s investigators and forensic accountants to move from first report to first freeze as quickly as the facts allow. She is admitted in New York and regularly coordinates matters with local counsel worldwide.

Penelope is a graduate of Yale Law School and Cornell University, where she served on the law review. She writes and speaks frequently on fraud trends and is a member of the firm’s 24-hour incident-response desk.
