Whitfield’s Brussels office is home to an Antitrust & Competition Team recognized for its deep experience in high-stakes merger control and antitrust matters. We advise an international client base on transactions and investigations across Europe and beyond, working seamlessly with our global antitrust team.

We regularly represent clients before the European Commission, national competition authorities and the EU Courts. Our practice has particular strength in handling complex cross-border merger control matters, including filings under the EU Merger Regulation, Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR) and foreign direct investment (FDI) regimes across multiple jurisdictions.

Our team is known for guiding clients through challenging and innovative cross-border M&A transactions, including those involving novel deal structures, fix-it-first remedies, carve-out divestments and behavioral commitments.

In addition, we act in some of the most prominent abuse of dominance and cartel investigations in Europe.
