Margaret Chen Testifies Before Congress on Cryptocurrency Fraud Recovery

Margaret Chen testified before the House Financial Services Committee on the challenges victims face in recovering cryptocurrency stolen through investment fraud, and recommended reforms to streamline cross-exchange asset freezes.
Her testimony drew on the firm’s experience recovering more than $400 million in digital assets since 2016.
“The technology to freeze stolen crypto exists. What is missing is the coordination to use it at the speed the fraudsters move,” she told the Committee.
